Making this bite-size French toast recipe is straight forward. Cut your favourite bread into cubes and soak in the egg mix. Cook them on a frying pan. Then transfer them into the sugar mix. That’s basically it!
The only thing to pay attention to is which bread you are going to use.
The best bread for these French toast bites
I’ve tried this recipe with lots of different bread to get the perfect bite size French toast. My favourite is leftover sourdough, rye or whole-grain bread. But most bread works but try to avoid super soft bread as it absorbs to much egg mix and becomes soggy.
The best is leftover and slightly stale bread!
Of course, you can try your favourite gluten-free bread!
Which sugar to use for this recipe?
Any type of sugar is fine. I used beet sugar. Granulated cane sugar works well too.
Once you coated each side of the cooked bread cubes with the sugar mix, transfer them onto a plate and serve them immediately! That’s it! Enjoy!
